About Me
My Musical Journey
I was born just outside Cardiff in a town called, Bridgend. When I was one, my family moved to Gloucester. My mum is a music teacher, so I grew up surrounded by music. She taught me piano, and I was always singing around the house. I grew up in church so when I was eleven, I joined the youth band and the Sunday church band. Being a part of the band allowed me to develop my piano playing and singing skills - I learnt how to sing harmonies and how to play chords. When I was 15, I went to college to study Performing Arts, then a year later I studied Music at Gloucester College, which is what I’m still currently doing.

Over the summer holidays I rediscovered a passion for looking after young children. This came from working at a climbing centre in Gloucester where I run children’s activities and by going to a home-ed meet-up group, where the young children and I played games for an hour and a half.

Then when I came back to college in September, I was really fascinated by the advantages of teaching music to children from an early age and because I can speak Welsh, I thought that would be a great thing to include as well, which is what ‘Caru Canu’ is all about. Caru Canu is about teaching young children Welsh, through music.

‘Caru Canu’ has allowed me to bring all of my skills and passions together, to hopefully inspire the next generation of Welsh speakers.
