Biography
Ffion Diaz

Ffion is a musician based in Gloucester. She’s currently studying music at Gloucester College. She has a very lovely ‘folky’ voice, hence why her favourite genre to sing is folk. Ffion has a powerful, bright and confident voice which allows her to sing lots of different styles of music comfortably, this includes anything from Soul to Easy Listening to Musical Theatre - even to Classical music. When Ffion sings, she always sings clearly and with emotion. Ffion not only loves to sing, but she can also play the piano and the keyboard.

Growing up Ffion attended church where she learnt how to sing harmonies and how to play chords. She is now one of the Worship Leaders at Gloucester Elim Church. Ffion is currently working towards her ABRSM Grade 6 Musical Theatre and her ABRSM Grade 5 Piano, this has equiped her to grow in her musical skills. Ffion also recently completed her Grade 5 Music Theory. This taught her the skills to write and arrange music.
Ffion has been singing in choirs from a young age - she was a part of the Vocality Youth Choir and Cambrats Youth Choir. She is still currently a part of the Gloucestershire County Youth Choir (GYC). This has enabled her to sing alongside the amazing Vonda Shepard (American Singer/Songwriter and Actress) and Andy Coxon an actor from the West End. She even appeared on BBC Gloucestershire Radio singing with GYC. She has auditioned in the Music for Youth (MFY) festival at Birmingham Symphony Hall and has sung in an opera ‘The Burning Bush’, featuring the Welsh-Irish bass-baritone opera singer, Paul Carey Jones as part of the Three Choirs Festival in Gloucester. She was also one of the audience singers for the artist – Homegrown Worship.

Ffion has many talents; one of them is that she can speak Welsh and has entered in the Eisteddfod with her family singing ‘Dim Ofn’ by Red Rocks Worship. She loves incorporating her different skills to make something new. For example, she’s made a Welsh educational video; she’s also written her own version of the traditional Welsh song ‘Ar Lan Y Mor’ where she received this feedback - "Your vocals were presented confidently and clearly; you have great articulation and technique. In addition, your ability to pitch notes is strong and accurate, there was very little deviation in pitch, and you have a rich tone to your voice. Your piano accompanying skills are also strong and your ability to voice chords in full whilst maintaining a great vocal performance is very professional."

Overall, Ffion loves incorporating music and Welsh - she hopes that she will inspire people to learn Welsh in a fun way.
