Get to Know Me A Bit Better!

In this blog I've looked up and asked some friends for some questions that I can answer. So, that you can get to know me a bit better.

When you’re not working/studying, how do you like to spend your time?

I love to embroider, sew, paint… basically anything to do with craft. But I also obviously love music. I love learning new piano pieces and singing. I enjoy walks, I love to travel, and I have always wanted to surf, but I’m a bit scared of learning because surfing looks hard, and it looks dangerous. I currently work in a climbing centre and love to climb (especially lead climbing).

What instruments do you play?

I play the piano and I sing. I have always wanted a harp, but they’re super expensive. When I was younger, I used to go to the Eisteddfod, and I would have a go at playing on the harps displayed in the stalls and fell in love with it.

If you had to choose just one for the rest of your life, would you rather be able to sing or play piano?

I think I would choose singing. Just because my singing is better than my piano playing. But then if I only play piano for the rest of my life, I’d get a lot better at playing. I think I’m going to change my answer to playing piano, who knows maybe if I did that I’d become the next Mozart.

What’s your favourite book series?

I’m the type of person to start reading a book and then never finishing it. The only series of books that I’ve read all the way through are ‘The Hunger Games’ and ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’.

I’ve also started to read ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ and I’m highly enjoying them.

What’s your favourite word?

Discombobulated, confuzzled (it’s not actually a word, but I think it should be), hypothesis. Basically, any word that sounds a bit weird.

My favourite Welsh word is igam ogam which means zig zag, or not in a straight line.

Finally, my favourite music word is acciaccatura.

What is your first musical memory?

Every year when I was younger, I would sing in a concert called ‘The Promise of Christmas’. The show was at St David’s Hall in Cardiff. I loved it! I loved the songs, but most of all I loved the adrenaline of singing on a stage in front of hundreds of people.

What are your top five favourite movies?

1. Back to the Future. Part 2.

2. National treasures.

3. Yogi Bear.

4. Hitch.

5. Little Women.

Basically, any feel-good film with some action, but most of all has humour in it.

What is your favourite song that you’re listening to at the moment?

How Deep is Your Love – Bee Gees. But it changes all of the time. But when I’m working I tend to listen to Classical music, because it helps me to concentrate better.

What’s your favourite dessert?

I don’t think I have one, I like most desserts as long as they’re not too sickly. My family make a good Guinness cake and lemon and raspberry traybake. So, they’re probably up there.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I’ve always wanted to go to New Zealand. So, I guess New Zealand.

Sunrise or sunset?

Sunset, just because I’m never up early enough to see the sunrise.

What’s your favourite tv show?

‘All Creatures Great and Small’, but I also loved ‘Timeless’.

What’s your favourite Artist?

Michael Buble, because I really like his style of music. I'm actually going to see him in the summer.

I hope you've got to know me a bit better. Feel free to send me some of your answers, so that I can get to know you.
